Insect paradise and herb garden
NABU Burgstädt e. V., which has been committed to nature conservation in the region for many years, would like to further expand the so-called apple nature trail with the natural gardens.
The apple nature trail, which includes cherry and pear trees as well as apple trees, is located in the Mulden and Chemnitztal landscape conservation area and is home to many animals and plants. Visitors of all ages can learn more about orchards from educational boards and are sensitised to their preservation.
Last year, an allotment garden that had previously been used conventionally as well as an adjacent vacant garden were taken over for further development. Initial work has already been carried out, for example the construction of a stone biotope and the planting of shrubs and apple trees.
The donation will be used for the further implementation and design of a renaturalised area with a special focus on native and insect-friendly plants and herbs.
