RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
Respect for human rights is an integral part of our Group-wide Code of Conduct for Employees and our Code of Conduct for Suppliers. In order to express our recognition of and respect for human rights in the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group, we have implemented a declaration of principles on respect for human rights. ZSCHIMMER & SCHWARZ SUPPORTS THE UN GLOBAL COMPACT
In 2021, Zschimmer & Schwarz joined the United Nations Global Compact. This is our explicit commitment to responsible corporate governance. By joining, we have committed to integrating ten binding principles from the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and corruption prevention into our corporate strategy. Since 2022, we have been submitting Communication on Progress reports, which are published on the UN Global Compact website.

The United Nations (UN) Global Compact was launched in 2000 to encourage companies worldwide to align their strategies and activities with ten universal principles. These principles cover the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and corruption prevention and support the general goals of the United Nations. By developing, implementing and disclosing responsible corporate policies and practices, companies are supposed to ensure that markets develop in a way that benefits the respective economies and societies. The Global Compact is a voluntary platform for dialogue and mutual learning and, with more than 24,300 companies and organisations in over 170 countries, the world's largest initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate governance.

As a member of Responsible Care, we strive for constant improvement in the areas of environment, safety and health, regardless of legal requirements. With the RSPO certification of several locations, we commit ourselves voluntarily to the use of sustainably grown palm oil. As a system partner of bluesign®, Zschimmer & Schwarz stands for resource-efficient and environmentally conscious production. Many of our chemical auxiliaries comply with GOTS and meet the OEKO-TEX®-Standard 100, which means they are certified sustainable and pollutant-tested. By strictly avoiding the substances listed in the ZDHC MRSL list, we eliminate potentially harmful chemicals from the supply chain.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND RESOURCE CONSERVATION
We aim to play an important role in the chemical industry when it comes to environmental protection and resource conservation. Modern security measures as well as internal and external monitoring ensure that our work processes protect the environment. We reduce emissions and clean our wastewater in our own wastewater treatment plants at several locations. We check our products for their environmental compatibility at every stage – from production to further processing. Protecting the environment is not a burden for us, but part of acting on our sense of responsibility.
