Zschimmer & Schwarz funds whiteboards for Ukrainian school
Thanks to the chemical company's donation campaign, School No. 16 in Poltava has been able to purchase interactive whiteboards
Interactive learning with modern tools improves the engagement and performance of pupils. For this reason, Zschimmer & Schwarz has supported School No. 16 in Poltava, Ukraine, with a donation of 12,000 euros for the purchase of five interactive whiteboards. The project was proposed by Tetiana Sylenko, Director of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group‘s subsidiary in Poltava, Ukraine. The interactive whiteboards can be used to access computer applications or websites in the classroom and improve media skills. Interactive exercises are also possible thanks to the use of these modern multimedia tools, allowing children to become more active in class and learn even complex material more effectively.
“One whiteboard was installed in the primary school and four in the secondary – in the classrooms for maths, history and foreign languages”, explains Tetiana Sylenko, initiator of the donation project. “I am delighted that my proposal for the donation campaign was selected. The school management and teachers, and of course the pupils at School No. 16, are also very grateful that Zschimmer & Schwarz is investing in the children's education with this project.”
The donation campaign of Zschimmer & Schwarz was initiated by the shareholder families and is now an integral part of the company's social commitment. It takes place every two years and entered its third round in 2024. All employees have the opportunity to suggest local initiatives to be supported by the company with a donation.
School No. 16 in Poltava, Ukraine, is one of 39 facilities and projects across Europe, North and South America as well as Asia supported by Zschimmer & Schwarz as part of the donation campaign with a total sum of around 350,000 euros. “For more than 130 years, our family company Zschimmer & Schwarz has consistently laid the focus of our activities on our fellow human beings. With this philosophy, we aim to give something valuable back to society,” explains Dr. Monika Börner, family shareholder of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group. “We are happy to support initiatives of our employees and to involve ourselves in projects that deliver direct and sustainable effects at our business locations,” adds Thomas Schwarz, also family shareholder of Zschimmer & Schwarz.
