Not far from Milledgeville in the South of the USA, a new plant for Zschimmer & Schwarz has been under construction since March 2017. The company is thus expanding its manufacturing capacity in the USA in order to better meet customers' increasing demand for tailor-made chemical auxiliaries and specialities. At the same time, the company is realising new technical opportunities for the future of the plant. Commissioning is planned for the end of 2018. Around 30 new jobs will be created in total.

On an area of ​​1.2 million square metres, the new facilities in the US State of Georgia will mainly manufacture ester products for the Care Specialities Division, in particular for the group of LUBRICITES, which are being used in diverse application areas. The production of LEXOLUBE^® products will also be relocated from Milledgeville to Ivey. Zschimmer & Schwarz acquired the LEXOLUBE^® Division of Inolex, Inc. in January 2017.

The new Ivey site is approximately 16 miles from Milledgeville and offers several benefits: a good rail connection enables the delivery of raw materials as well as forwarding of the finished products via tank cars. A tank farm with 42 heated tanks for raw and finished goods is being built which will be connected to the two large-volume reactors. There is also a laboratory and administration building as well as sufficient storage space for packaged goods. A biological wastewater treatment plant completes the state-of-the-art factory.

Together with Canton (Massachusetts), Louisville (Kentucky) and Milledgeville (Georgia), Ivey is the fourth site of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group in the United States. A total of around 145 employees produce and distribute chemical auxiliaries and specialities here for the Fibre and Ceramic Auxiliaries, Phosphonates, Care Specialities and Polymer Divisions.
