Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier visits Zschimmer & Schwarz in Lahnstein
Focus on strengthening small and medium-sized businesses as the backbone of the German economy
Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier visited Zschimmer & Schwarz, the globally active supplier of chemical specialities and auxiliaries, in Lahnstein today. Other guests included the Vice-President of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Parliament Matthias Lammert, Member of the Bundestag Josef Oster, the mayoral candidate for the city of Lahnstein Thomas Becher and the deputy chairmen of the CDU faction in the Lahnstein City Council Günter Groß and Michael Güls.
The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy discussed economic policy issues for the medium-sized chemical industry with the General Management of the family-owned company with a long tradition. "Climate protection is a central concern for Zschimmer & Schwarz. At the same time, the Green Deal poses enormous challenges for the industry and especially for small and medium-sized businesses in Germany. Family-owned companies like Zschimmer & Schwarz are particularly burdened by this and their international competitiveness suffers as a result. We would like to see solutions from politics to strengthen the backbone of the German economy," says Dietmar Clausen, General Manager of Zschimmer & Schwarz.
