The founding of the joint venture company Interpolymer Korea expands the product portfolio of Zschimmer & Schwarz in the field of polyurethanes. Through this cooperation the specialty chemicals manufacturer gains further access to a growing and strategically important market.

In the context of a joint venture agreement, Zschimmer & Schwarz and KhaiEL Korea Co., Ltd. have founded the joint stock company Interpolymer Korea Co., Ltd. This marks another step in the growth strategy of the chemicals company, expanding its business portfolio into the field of aqueous polyurethane dispersions and strengthening its position in the South Korean market. The joint venture agreement was signed April 10th 2018.

“We are pleased to announce the foundation of Interpolymer Korea Co., Ltd. together with KhaiEL Korea Co., Ltd“, says Dr. Martin Haberl, one of the general managers of Zschimmer & Schwarz. “The product portfolio of Interpolymer Korea is an excellent addition to the polymer dispersions of the Interpolymer Group.“ The Interpolymer Corporation has been part of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group since 2015 and currently has production sites in the US, Germany, France, China and Hong Kong. A new plant for the production of polyurethane dispersions and other products will be built at the future location of Interpolymer Korea in Yesan-Gun in the South Korean province Chungcheongnam-do.
